About Aimee

Meet Aimee: A Private AI Companion for People Facing Relationship Abuse

Aimee helps you make sense of what’s happening in your relationship, put your experiences into words, and keep an organized record, any time of day, at your own pace.

Aimee Says · Updated October 2026 · 5 min read

Abuse is often hard to explain, even to yourself. There may be no single moment you can point to. Just a feeling that something is wrong, a lot of second-guessing, and a long trail of texts, arguments and “good days” that don’t add up.

Aimee was built for that place. She is an AI companion for people experiencing domestic abuse, coercive control or a high-conflict separation. You can talk to her at 2am, in the car, or during the ten quiet minutes you get to yourself, and she won’t judge, rush or get tired of hearing it.

Aimee at a glance

  • Who she’s for: people in or leaving a controlling or abusive relationship, and people co-parenting with someone who still tries to control them.
  • What she does: listens, helps you name patterns, and helps you keep an organized record you can share with an attorney or advocate.
  • What she isn’t: a lawyer, a therapist or an emergency service.
  • What it costs to try: nothing. You can start chatting without an account.

What you can do with Aimee

Talk it through

Tell Aimee what happened in your own words, by typing or by voice. She reflects back what she hears, helps you name what may be going on, and never tells you that you’re overreacting.

Name the patterns

Add an event and tap Get Insights, and Aimee points out the tactics she sees, like isolation, financial control or gaslighting. Seeing a name for it can make it easier to trust your own memory.

Build a timeline

Your events become a timeline, and the Events graphs show how often things happen and what kind. A stack of moments that each felt “too small to mention” becomes a pattern you can see.

Bring in your messages

Texts, emails, WhatsApp exports and your own incident spreadsheets can come into Aimee. Aimee Detects reads them and finds the moments that matter, so you don’t have to scroll back through years of messages yourself.

Get organized for the people helping you

Binders pull your events and documents together into a clear, organized record you can share with an attorney, advocate or therapist.

Why an AI companion?

Many people never tell anyone the full story. They worry they won’t be believed, that they’ll be a burden, or that someone else “has it worse.” Some simply can’t find the words yet.

It can be easier to type the truth to something that won’t judge you than to say it out loud to someone who might.

Aimee is available around the clock, and she doesn’t run out of patience. For many people, she’s a first step: a place to sort out what happened before talking to an advocate, a lawyer or a friend. Read more about why so many survivors start by typing.

Built to work alongside people, not replace them

Aimee is designed to complement the advocates, attorneys and counselors who do this work every day. She can help you get your thoughts and records in order so the time you spend with them goes further. When something needs a human professional, Aimee will say so.

Organizations can also offer Aimee to the people they serve. If you work at a shelter, legal aid office, university or employer, see how organizations partner with Aimee.

Your privacy

What you share with Aimee is yours. We never sell your information, and no AI is trained on your chats or content. You can delete your data and your account at any time. If you’re worried someone checks your phone or computer, consider using a private browser window or a device they can’t access. Read the full privacy page.
